The Nike Air Max 97 sneaker was a big hit in Italy when it was first released. Nike decided to thank the Italians who helped make the AM97 so popular by creating a special Nike Air Max 97 Metallic Gold (Italy) two decades later. This Air Max 97 included various shades of metallic gold on the upper part of the sneaker, which was made out of leather and textile. It also had red embroidered Swooshes on the sides of it and a Max Air sole unit that spanned the length of the sneaker.
