Air Max Day Forever!
Oh yes, it’s that time of the year where Nike says, “Let’s celebrate the greatest shoe on earth.” And that we will!
Air Max day is coming up on Friday March 26th and we are here to do just that.
The Air Max truly is iconic, not only because Tinker Hatfield changed the world with a bubble and an innovative design, but inspired generations to love the sneaker for more than just being a shoe.
1000’s of releases later we pick some of our all-time favorites AM’s from the retro’s to the latest to toast this icon.
Air Max 1 Master
Let’s start with the original. Released for Air Max day 2017 - 30 years after it’s original release, it sold out in seconds! This one pays homage to some of the classic AM1s of the past with it’s eye candy patchwork fabrics around the mud guard. See if you can guess any of them!
Air Max 95
Moving through the years, the innovation didn’t stop at one. In 1995 the next inception was born. Sergio Lozano was the brains behind this timeless design who wanted a shoe for runners to go that extra mile in. This latest colorway made us swoon thinking of what to wear it with right now.
Nike Air Max 98
How we love a retro here at the Common Ace headquarters. This design is so clean and simple, and can be dressed up or down. Think jeans, think sweats, think flowy pants. A sneaker that 22 years later can be just as cool then as it is now is mesmerizing. Get your retro on.
Air Max 180
Many do not realize that this particular low-key legendary shoe was the brainchild of Tinker Hatfield (Air Max dad) and Bruce Kilgore (Air Force 1 dad). It never released the notoriety back in the day that it should have until Comme Des Garcons joined the party in 2018 and said make it pink and everyone said take my money!
Nike Air Max React 270
Fast forward to the year 2019. We loved the React and we loved the Air Max 270 and as we all know Nike loves a hybrid and suddenly the React 270 was born. Travis Scott put his signature on one but this particular black and gold colorway (and price) does it for us.
Air Max Up
Comfort is key. When this revolutionary cushioning design came out last year in 2020 we all needed more comfort in our world, enter the AM Up! With that little extra elevation and slip-on ease who doesn’t need some support, love, and cool factor for their feet.
Air Max 97
Pink and white has never looked so fire on this classic. The first Air Max with a full-length bubble made waves for many runners back in the day with its hidden lacing system and its ‘bullet train’ inspired looks. Throw these numbers on with that summer pool party get up and you’ve got your fit down!
