About TakeOn Label
Founded in 2019 in SoHo New York, Takeon serves to create and bridge the gap between women’s wear and streetwear. Driven to bridge Asian and American street culture, co-founders Jessica Zhao and Chelsea Ma strive to cross over quality and design and culture. As female streetwear enthusiasts, Chelsea and Jessica work to pursue quality, integrity, and originality for women and men within the new world of fashion.
How would you describe your style?
Hybrid of Comfortable/ Simple/ Urban
What’s your idea of a perfect sneaker?
My perfect sneaker or even perfect sneaker collab is a sneaker with a great color way ( wearable so nothing too crazy ) reinvented with an old silhouette
How does a perfect pair of sneakers make you feel?
Sneakers make or break an outfit so if you have the perfect pair of sneakers mixed with a simple outfit, it definitely makes me feel confident and represented.
What are you inspired by?
I'm inspired by a lot of women around me
What about Common Ace is exciting to you?
Love Common Ace! Love that it's built by women for women, especially in an industry thats dominated by guys I'm happy to see that there is a platform that supports girls and really pushes forwards for more representation in the streetwear industry. I can't stress how many times I am disappointed where a collab comes out and their sizing doesn't go down far enough for girls. We need more representation and we more shoe sizing!
